My unit still has the original fuse box. Should I be worried?
Worried is the wrong word unless something is actively faulting, but it is the single most worthwhile upgrade on a block of that age. Rewireable fuses give you no residual current protection, which is the safety switch function that cuts power fast enough to prevent a serious shock. The problem most owners meet first is practical: there is no spare way on the board, so every new appliance becomes a bigger job than it should be.
Is parking or access a problem for you here?
It has not been. The streets are narrow and the blocks are close together, so we plan access before the day rather than turning up and hoping. If your building has a designated visitor bay or a loading area, tell us when you book and we will use it. We keep gear off shared paths and stairwells while we work.
Can you install a ceiling fan in a unit?
In most cases yes. What we check first is the ceiling height, the fixing point above the plasterboard and whether there is an existing wiring point and control. If the ceiling is low we will say so, because a fan that sits too close to head height is not worth installing. We will also tell you if a wall control needs its own cabling before you buy the fan.
Do you work on cafes and shops on Thomas Drive?
