Our Commitment to Isle of Capri Customers
Hi, I’m Mitch. On a property with water frontage the electrical work does not stop at the back wall. There is usually a pontoon or a jetty, garden and path lighting, pool and spa equipment, a shed or a boat well, and every one of those runs is outdoors, in reach of moisture, and needs to be protected accordingly.
That is the part I care about getting right. Correct residual current protection on outdoor circuits, properly rated fittings and enclosures near the water, cable sized for the distance rather than for convenience, and isolation where somebody might reasonably need it. It is not glamorous work but it is the difference between an installation that holds for decades and one that starts nuisance tripping in its second wet season.
You get the price before we start, the testing at the end, and our workmanship guaranteed for life.

Electrical Services for Isle of Capri Homes & Waterfront Properties
Everyday repairs and upgrades for houses, townhouses and apartments, alongside the outdoor and waterfront work these blocks tend to need: pontoon and jetty power, pool and spa circuits, garden lighting and weatherproof outlets. Larger homes here often draw more than the original supply was ever sized for, so three phase supply upgrades and EV charger installation are regular jobs. Everything is quoted onsite at a fixed price.
Lighting Installations & Upgrades
Interior lighting plus the outdoor work a waterfront block needs, including driveway, garden, path and pontoon lighting. See our outdoor lighting installation service for the full scope.
Switchboard Upgrades & Safety Switches
Smoke Alarm Installation
We install compliant smoke alarm systems in Isle of Capri properties, ensuring correct placement and reliable early fire detection for homes, rentals and businesses.
Power Points & USB Outlets
Indoor outlets, bench and USB points, and weatherproof outdoor points for decks, pool surrounds, sheds and boat wells. More detail on our additional power point installation page.
Ceiling Fan Installation
We install ceiling fans in homes and commercial spaces, improving airflow, comfort and energy efficiency throughout Isle of Capri properties all year round.
Appliance Installation & Repairs
Fault Finding & Repairs
On a large block the fault is often somewhere along the run rather than at the fitting that stopped working. We trace it properly instead of replacing parts one at a time and hoping the tripping stops.
Emergency Electrical Services
We offer fast emergency electrical services in Isle of Capri, responding to urgent issues such as power outages, electrical faults and safety hazards.
New Homes & Renovations
Commercial Electrical Services
We support Isle of Capri businesses with reliable commercial electrical services, including installations, maintenance and repairs tailored to operational needs.
Data Communications
We install and maintain data and communication systems, ensuring fast, reliable connectivity for homes, offices and commercial environments in Isle of Capri.
Single & 3 Phase Power
Larger homes here regularly outgrow a single phase supply once pool equipment, ducted air conditioning, a lift or a workshop are added. We assess the existing supply and board, upgrade to three phase where it is warranted, and pair it with a a properly sized switchboard where the board itself is the real limit rather than the supply.
Real Stories from Satisfied Isle of Capri Clients
We have 100+ five-star Google reviews, and the feedback from owners here is consistent. The arrival window is kept, the fixed quote is the final figure, and the property is left clean. Owners of waterfront blocks also tend to mention that we explained what we found outside rather than simply replacing what had failed.

Palm Beach LocalWhy Isle of Capri Owners Choose Us
What owners tell us they want is a straight assessment. Not the cheapest patch and not the biggest possible job, but an honest read on what is actually failing and what it will cost to fix properly.
On waterfront properties that usually means looking past the symptom. A circuit that trips on wet mornings is rarely a faulty appliance, and a corroded outdoor point is rarely just a bad fitting. We find the cause, price the real repair, and where the answer is that a decades-old board cannot support the house any longer we will say so. Ducted and split system air conditioning work is part of the same conversation, because it is usually what pushed the supply to its limit. Our workmanship is guaranteed for life.
What the Visit Looks Like in Isle of Capri
We ask enough on the phone to arrive with the right gear for the property, and you get an arrival window we intend to keep. If it moves, you hear from us before it does.
Onsite we assess, quote a fixed price in writing on that same visit, and only begin once you approve it. We protect floors and finishes, clean up after ourselves, test on completion and issue the Certificate of Testing and Compliance. If we have worked on anything outdoors or near the water we will walk you through what was installed and where the isolation points are before we leave.
You'll Find Our Electricians in Isle of Capri and Surrounding Areas
Isle of Capri is a group of linked islands in the Nerang River just west of Surfers Paradise, laced with canals and connected by bridges. Most of the housing is detached and a great deal of it has water frontage, though the suburb also holds townhouses, low-rise apartment buildings and the Via Roma retail and dining precinct at its centre, so it is far from a single kind of property.
What that geography does to electrical work is push a lot of it outdoors. Pontoons and jetties need power and lighting that is protected for the position. Pool and spa equipment, irrigation and garden lighting add outdoor circuits that all need residual current protection. Cable runs from the board to the far end of a block are long enough that sizing them properly matters. And because many of the original homes were built well before ducted air conditioning, pool heating and electric vehicles, the supply and the board are frequently the real constraint rather than the fitting somebody rang about.
Our electricians work across the river and canal suburbs together, including Surfers Paradise, Bundall, Chevron Island, Broadbeach, Sorrento, Paradise Waters, Carrara. Booking from any of them is the same straightforward process.
Frequently Asked Questions
What owners around Isle of Capri ask us before booking. Several of these come back to the same thing: on a waterfront block a good deal of the installation lives outdoors, so distance, moisture and correct protection decide how long the work lasts. If your question is not answered here, call us and we will go through it properly.
Can you run power and lighting out to a pontoon?
Yes, and it is regular work for us here. The run has to be sized for the distance, protected against physical damage and moisture along its whole length, and given residual current protection at the board. We also fit isolation so the pontoon can be shut off from the house. Done correctly it is a long-lived installation, and done casually it is a recurring problem.
Why does my outdoor circuit trip after rain?
Almost always because water has found its way into a fitting, a junction or an outlet somewhere on that circuit, and the safety switch is doing exactly what it is meant to do. The fix is to find the entry point rather than to reset the switch, which is why we test the circuit in sections instead of replacing the most obvious fitting and hoping.
Do I need three phase power?
Not everybody does. It becomes worth considering when the total load has outgrown a single phase supply, which typically happens once ducted air conditioning, pool and spa equipment, a workshop or fast EV charging are all in play. We measure what the property actually draws and what the existing supply can carry, then give you a straight recommendation either way.
Can you install an EV charger at home?
Yes. The important part is sizing it against your existing supply and board rather than simply mounting the unit on the garage wall. We check the available capacity, work out whether the circuit can be added as things stand, and quote any supply or board work separately so you can see exactly what the charger itself costs.
Is there a fee just to come out and look?
Not in standard business hours. We attend, diagnose the problem and give you a fixed written price on the same visit at no charge, and there is no obligation to proceed. Emergency and after-hours attendances are arranged differently, and we tell you what applies while you are on the phone.
How long does a switchboard replacement take?
Most residential board replacements are a day, sometimes less on a straightforward installation. The power is off for a good part of it, so we agree the day and the timing with you in advance. On a larger home with a lot of circuits, or where the mains need attention as well, it can run longer and we will tell you that when we quote rather than partway through.
Are you licensed and insured?
MF Electrical Group holds Electrical Contractor Licence #177020 and carries full insurance. Queensland has two separate licences: the person doing the work holds an electrical work licence, and the business needs an electrical contractor licence to trade. Both come from the Electrical Safety Office under the Electrical Safety Act 2002, and every completed job is issued a Certificate of Testing and Compliance.
