Our house has been extended a few times. Is that a problem?
Not automatically, but it is worth looking at. Staged extensions often mean circuits that were extended rather than added, so you end up with more load on an original circuit than it was designed for. The signs are nuisance tripping, warm switch plates or lights dimming when something heavy starts up.

Yes. Queensland requires interconnected photoelectric alarms, so when one sounds they all sound, with specific placement rules for bedrooms, hallways and each storey. Any property being sold or newly leased has to meet it, and from 1 January 2027 it applies to every domestic dwelling.
