As a general rule, what sits inside your lot is yours and what serves common property or shared services belongs to the body corporate. Boards are often the grey area. We can quote the lot work and the common property work separately so the owner and the committee each see their own scope, rather than one invoice nobody wants to split.
Can you run power out to a pontoon?
Yes. Circuits to pontoons, jetties and boat lifts need to be designed for a wet, salt-exposed environment, with the right protection, suitably rated enclosures and stainless fixings. It is not the place for a standard outdoor outlet. We quote the full run including the protection at the board rather than just the fitting on the end.
Do external fittings really fail faster here?
They do. Salt-laden air attacks metal fittings, screws, hinges and condenser fins, and the effect is noticeably stronger close to the water. Using coastal-rated fittings and stainless fixings costs a little more at installation and saves replacing the same item repeatedly.
Can you work in a gated resort community?
Yes, and a fair amount of our Hope Island work is exactly that. We arrange access and any management notification before the day, follow the site’s requirements for parking and work hours, and keep the job contained so neighbours are not affected more than necessary.
