Does being close to the beach affect electrical fittings?
Noticeably. Salt in the air accelerates corrosion on anything exposed, so external light fittings, power point covers and air-conditioning condensers all age faster within a few streets of the sand. It is not a reason to avoid outdoor work, it is a reason to specify the right fittings and mounting hardware for the exposure.
My beach house still has the original fuse box. Is that a problem?
